This policy explains how Premier Blinds ("we", "us") collects and uses your personal information when you visit our website, send us an enquiry, book a home appointment or buy from us. We are a made-to-measure blinds, shutters, curtains and awnings business based in Stockton-on-Tees.

We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions about it, please contact us using the details above.

What we collect

  • Enquiry and appointment forms: your name, phone number, email address, postcode, the products you're interested in, and anything you write in your message.
  • Home appointments and orders: your address, window measurements, product and fabric choices, notes about access and fitting, your quote and order details, and payment records. We don't store card numbers. Payments are handled by our payment provider.
  • Calls and emails: the details you give us when you phone or email us.
  • Website use: technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see "Cookies" below).

How we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To reply to your enquiry, arrange your free appointment and prepare your quote. We do this because you've asked us to take steps before entering into a contract.
  • To supply, fit and service your blinds, shutters, curtains or awnings, including arranging repairs. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To keep business, accounting and tax records. This is to meet our legal obligations.
  • To run, secure and improve our website, and to prevent spam and fraud. This is in our legitimate interests.
  • To send you news or offers. We only do this if you've agreed, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for automated decision-making.

Who we share it with

We only share what's needed with:

  • the companies that host our website and email, including Shopify, which runs this website;
  • our fitters;
  • suppliers and manufacturers who make your order (they receive measurements and product details, not your contact details unless delivery requires them);
  • our accountants;
  • payment providers.

We may also share information where the law requires it.

Shopify also processes some information about your use of this website for its own purposes, as described in the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy.

Some of these providers, including Shopify, may process data outside the UK. Where they do, appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses are in place.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and quotes that don't go ahead: up to 2 years, then deleted.
  • Customer and order records: 6 years after the end of the financial year of your order, to meet tax and accounting rules and to support warranty and repair work.
  • Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe.

Cookies

Your rights

You have the right to:
