Blinds and shutters for homes in Redcar

Redcar is a seaside town with a real mix of housing, from traditional Victorian and Edwardian terraces to post-war semis and newer family homes further back from the front. That mix means we rarely suggest the same thing twice. Older terraces often have tall windows and a front bay, which suit shutters or Roman blinds if you'd like the window to look properly finished. In newer homes with uPVC windows, Perfect Fit® blinds are a popular choice, because the frame clips into the window itself without drilling and the blind moves with the window when you open it.

Sea air, wind and outdoor shading in Redcar

Living close to the coast brings bright, reflected light and a fair amount of wind. Indoors, we'd usually suggest a light-filtering or dim-out fabric for front rooms, so you cut the glare without the room feeling dark. Outdoors, salt air and gusty days are worth thinking about before you choose an awning. If your garden or patio is exposed, we'd recommend an electric awning with a Somfy wind sensor, which retracts the awning automatically when the wind picks up, so it isn't left out in weather it shouldn't be. You can read more on our awnings page, and we'll look at how sheltered your space is when we visit.
