Blinds and shutters for homes in Guisborough

Guisborough is an old market town on the edge of the hills, with older stone and brick properties around the centre and a good number of newer family estates built around it. Older houses tend to have smaller, deeper window openings, so we'll check carefully whether a blind will sit neatly inside the recess (the opening the window sits in) or is better fitted just outside it. Newer homes usually have uPVC windows and patio doors, which open up options such as Perfect Fit® blinds that fit within the window frame itself.

Keeping Guisborough homes warm and comfortable

Close to the hills, winters can feel cold, so it's worth thinking about keeping heat in as well as controlling light. Cellular blinds are a good option here: their honeycomb shape traps a layer of air at the window, which helps a room feel warmer. Lined curtains and Roman blinds do a similar job and suit cottage-style rooms well. In kitchens and bathrooms, faux wood Venetians or a wipe-clean roller fabric are easy to look after and cope well with steam.
