Blinds and shutters for homes in Stokesley

Stokesley is a traditional market town, and many of its older houses and cottages have windows that weren't built to modern sizes. Thick stone walls often mean deep recesses and wide sills, which is useful when it comes to blinds: there's usually room to fit inside the recess and keep the sill clear for plants or ornaments. Newer homes on the edges of town are more likely to have uPVC windows and French doors.

For older properties, Roman blinds and wooden blinds tend to sit most comfortably with the character of the rooms. Shutters are another option, and we'll check whether the recess is deep enough for the panels to fold back neatly before we suggest them. If a window is slightly out of square, we'll measure at several points so the finished blind still hangs straight.

Popular choices in Stokesley

• Cottage windows with deep sills: Roman or wooden blinds fitted inside the recess.
• Low-ceilinged rooms: blinds that stack compactly at the top so they don't block light.
• Kitchens: faux wood venetians or wipe-clean rollers that handle cooking steam.
• Newer homes: Perfect Fit® blinds that clip into uPVC frames.
