Made-to-Measure Blinds in Skelton

Skelton-in-Cleveland sits just inland from Saltburn, with a traditional High Street, stone cottages and terraces near Skelton Castle, and newer family estates around New Skelton. Older homes can have smaller, deeper window reveals (the depth of wall around the window), while newer houses tend to have larger glazing and patio doors, so the right choice often differs from one home to the next.

We cover Skelton and New Skelton together with Saltburn, Brotton, Boosbeck, Guisborough and the wider East Cleveland area.

Popular choices in Skelton

In Skelton's cottages and older terraces, windows tend to be smaller, so a bulky blind can take away a lot of light. Pleated blinds suit these well, because the fabric folds up into a slim headrail (the bar at the top that holds the blind) and leaves most of the glass clear when open. Roman blinds and lined curtains suit the cosier rooms and help keep the warmth in through the winter months. If you'd like to compare softer options, our Roman blinds page explains more about them.

Blinds for newer homes in New Skelton

The family estates around New Skelton are mostly built with uPVC windows and patio doors, which open up other choices. Perfect Fit® blinds clip into the window frame without drilling, so they look tidy and move with the window when it opens. For wide patio doors, vertical blinds draw neatly to one side, and in kitchens and bathrooms a faux wood Venetian copes well with steam. Being close to the coast, some gardens catch the wind, so if you're thinking about an awning, we'd suggest one with a Somfy wind sensor that retracts it automatically in strong gusts.
